A Fun Learning Experience with AR and VR!
Hello everyone welcome back to my blog!
For our "Current Issues in Teaching" course, my team and I wanted to try something exciting with technology. We decided to create a worksheet using augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) to introduce students to some famous landmarks and a museum in Paris.
We thought this would be a fun and interactive way to learn about French culture and history!
We chose Paris because it’s such a beautiful and historic city, and we picked three key places to highlight: Notre-Dame Cathedral, the Eiffel Tower, and the Louvre Museum.
We chose Paris because it’s such a beautiful and historic city, and we picked three key places to highlight: Notre-Dame Cathedral, the Eiffel Tower, and the Louvre Museum.
I worked on writing the introduction about Paris and creating the content for Notre-Dame Cathedral. I included some interesting facts about the cathedral’s history and architecture, plus a QR code that links to a cool video. This video introduces the cathedral to students in the form of an entertaining story and takes them on a tour.
To make the worksheet even more engaging, we included questions about the video to help students think deeper about the cathedral’s design and why it's so important to French culture. My friends, Selin and Nisa, worked on the Eiffel Tower and the Louvre Museum sections, making sure to highlight interesting details about each place.
We also prepared an ASSURE PLAN for this assignment, as in other assignments. You can also access its link here.
By using AR and VR, we were able to bring these famous landmarks to life, giving students an interactive and fun way to learn. This project showed us how technology can make learning more exciting and engaging, and we’re excited to share it with others!
You can take a look at our worksheets from here and you can go to the video I chose by scanning the QR code below.
